Patients report: Osteoarthritis of the knee – Thanks to stem cell treatment a patient got rid of her joint problems
Mrs. K. was always very active. Cycling, Nordic walking, and gardening were her favorite hobbies. But an accident changed her life. As a result, the now 76-year-old suffered from severe pain in both knees for almost a decade and was barely able to climb the two floors to her apartment without help. Then she decided to get her joints treated with her body own stem cells.
When Mrs. K. works in her garden or rides the bike, the past few years seem like from another life. At that time, her knee problems massively restricted the formerly active and cheerful pensioner. Sport was out of the question, dealing with everyday life became a problem.
Mrs. K. underwent various treatments and therapies over the years, which unfortunately did not help. Arthroscopy also brought no relief. “I was in pain even when I wasn’t moving. I was therefore often unable to sleep at night,” she recalls. “The complaints were getting worse and there was a risk of having to get artificial knee joints.”
Mrs. K. happened to learn about a new treatment method using the body’s own stem cells. Then she consulted the Viennese doctor DDr. Karl-Georg Heinrich. “Stem cells are extracted from the patient’s body fat and used to treat osteoarthritis and cartilage damage. The healing potential of these specific cells has been proven worldwide by scientific studies,” the doctor explains. Treatment is carried out on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia; the patients are able to go home immediately after the procedure.
Improvement of Complaints
The method is basically suitable for the treatment of all joints, the knees, hips, fingers, feet, and the spine. Many patients who were treated in international in clinical studies because of joints problems noticed an improvement of the pain and the flexibility of the joints.
In the weeks after the treatment Mrs. K’s joint problems continuously improved: “After just a few days I was able to sleep at night without pain. For me that is a huge gain in quality of life,” the satisfied patient reports. She has been working in her beloved garden for a long time now again and spends her free time looking for mushrooms in the mountains. “I’m also free of pain when walking downhill,” the active senior says.
DDr. Heinrich is happy about the recovery of his patient: “Stem cell treatment of damaged joints could preserve the natural joints of many people affected and save them from stressful operations under general anesthesia,” the doctor says.
